Robert “Rob” Luce is an attorney based in Boise. He is licensed to practice law in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
As a member of our health care team, he advises federally qualified health care centers in the Pacific Northwest on regulatory compliance issues, including general contract and human resources. He also provides general counsel services to local governments and municipalities as the Borough Attorney for the City and Borough of Wrangell Alaska.
Prior to joining Smith + Malek in 2022, Rob served as corporate compliance manager, corporate counsel, and privacy officer at Terry Reilly Health Services. He also served as the Boise City Attorney for four years, where he functioned as the executive and administrative head of the city’s legal services department.
To date, his biggest career accomplishment is serving as the Family and Children Services administrator for the state of Idaho. Rob has also volunteered through programs like the Saint Alphonsus Project Haiti and Life’s Kitchen in Boise. He was responsible for arranging, facilitating, and finalizing the adoptions of more than 35 Haitian orphans, the first two of whom were his sons, Parker and Patrick.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, Betsy—the person he admires most—and his two boys. He can often be found skiing, golfing, traveling, and restoring historic cottages.
