Based in our Spokane office, Lance Smith brings a wealth of experience in financial management to Smith + Malek. As a senior accountant, he oversees all financial operations including bookkeeping, reporting, and compliance. Lance also manages budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations, providing key insights to support decision-making and improve processes.
Lance began his career at a CPA firm where he handled tax returns, general accounting tasks, and prepared financial statements. He later moved into auditing, gaining extensive experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Lance’s ability to streamline financial operations was evident when he worked with a rapidly growing client to transition their accounting processes, implementing strong internal controls to support sustainable growth and financial accuracy.
A lifelong Eastern Washingtonian, Lance attended Eastern Washington University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Outside of work, Lance enjoys spending time with his family at the lake, camping with friends, and discovering new activities. A music enthusiast, he also attends concerts whenever possible.
